OSI Prompt 81: Thirst

My Bellavia brings us this week's prompt, thirst. These are the words that came to my mind.


I drank from her heavenly eyes in barren deserts
I swam in the unfathomed depths of her loving heart
The promise of her sight, my shower of blessings
A touch of her hand, the rain, the mist.


Today, I have a religion but no faith inside
The clouds are charred in the burning sky
Parched souls, heartbreak is an eternal decree
I never knew what thirst was, till love left me by the sea.

Here's my take on it.





The skies were blue when i cried,

my tears drowned in the big blue ocean.

Humming the blues, I stepped into the ocean

As I turned blue, the skies began to cry.


I thank OSI for its allure that dragged me back to my blog and getting back to writing again.

Its been a month since my last attempt at Haiku..so here's to the season and the "Spring" in my steps :)

Live Water

Bent, broken and fatally weak
I lay there dying, by the creek
I heard the thunder, then the rains
Water filled my lungs, then my veins

I stood again, shed all my blood
Wild and free, a furious flood
They screamed, they clutched,then drowned in me
I'm alive again, what i used to be.

i can barely move my feet.

Together Forever

It started out when i was a kid
She seemed so far from me
Never thought we'd meet
But she knew,it was meant to be.

As youth intoxicated my senses
Life blinded me with its sheen
Nothing else,i had on my mind
Never more jealous she had been.

Hair grew grayer than the skies
Dreams shattered by noon
I thought of her,now and then
Maybe she'd come running soon.

Tonight i lie in my broken home
My bed,empty without her
I seek her with every breath
She never takes them away
I wait for her final embrace
Death,my Bride-to-be.

Green grass on the other side,
Lush with toxic splendor.

Virginal girl next door,
Smile painted with unspoken venom.

Child baptised with abuses,
Slits veins for a sweet escape.

Bird humming an ode to dusk,
Mourns on remains of the broken eggs.

Devout wife kisses her husband home,
Refuting the scent of another woman.

Man holding strings to the Universe,
Impatient to let all crash and burn.

Home sweeter than any other,
They do build coffins for four.
